What shampoo is good for curly and coily hair?

A moisturizing shampoo that cleans the scalp without leaving hair difficult to manage is a useful starting point for curly and coily hair. Pair it with conditioner. Curl pattern alone does not determine the best formula: buildup, scalp sensitivity, styling habits, and individual tolerance also matter.

Match cleansing to the routine

Frequent use of oils, gels, and creams can change cleansing needs. Wash when your scalp and buildup require it rather than copying someone else’s schedule. Work in sections if that makes washing and detangling easier.

Do not skip conditioning

Condition throughout the lengths and detangle gently. A shampoo bar does not automatically replace conditioner, even if it contains conditioning ingredients. The way you handle your hair is part of the routine.

Compare bar and liquid fairly

Both are formats, not quality ratings. INKUH offers Tropical Paradise and Peppermint & Rosemary shampoo bars and conditioner bars. Tropical Paradise lists fragrance; the peppermint and rosemary option lists essential oils. Neither should be assumed fragrance-free.
